I have a 2001 blazer and the windshield wiper arm is stripped. What is the trick to remove it?

There's really no trick at all as all you have to do is the following: Pop off the plastic cap at the base of the wiper arm. You'll notice a metric hex bolt under the now removed plastic cap. When both wipers are in the home position at the base of the windshield, tighten the hex bolt. On new GM products there are no more splines in the wiper arm or wiper arm drive spindle. It's a pure press taper arrangement so all you need to do is tighten the metric nut.
