Question:

I have a 2008 500r kawasaki ninja, The brake and rear running lights dont work?

the brake and running lights dont wrk when the motorcycle is running, but when you turn the key to auxillary then they work how do i fix this problem, the front headlights work and the blinkers work but the back break lights and running lights dont work. if there is any one who has a diagram of the bike or anything will help! thanks!

Answer:

Air rises in brake lines. If any air were to get into the brake lines, it would attempt to rise to the brake reservoir.
Two reasons: -to keep air out of the system; -if the reservoir were not the highest part, it would be very difficult to fill the system, and any time you removed the top of the reservoir fluid would come out, ruining any paint it might touch. It never hurts to have gravity on your side.
Motorcycles have up to two brake fluid reservoirs, one for the front, usually found on the handlebars and one for the back. Both should be checked regularly. Topping up should only be done from a new, sealed bottle as brake fluid tends to absorb moisture over time. If your brake pads are thin and due for replacement. Beware - brake fluid, if spilt on paintwork eats right through to the bare metal.
You need to put the bike into a workshop for an experienced mechanic to examine. Even young machanic's struggle with electrics on a bike so try and find an experienced mechanic, they are the only Guys who can solve the problem.
1(a). Check the operation of the brake switches at the front and rear brake controls. 1(b). Replace the rear tail/brake-light bulb. 2. The Ninja 500 does not have rear running lights. 3. If the rear turn-signals illuminate in the Aux' position then that means that they are part of the parking lights circuit. This doesn't mean that they should illuminate at any other time.
