Question:

I have a big snag on my carpet.what can I do with the big yarn sticking out?

Is there a way I can thread it back in? I know when there's a snag on a sweater you can use a needle and thread to pull the snag back into the sweaterWhat can I do for carpet (it's not shag but your basic run of the mill household carpet)?

Answer:

If I remember correctlyI think they hold 16 roundsThe springs definately go first, depending where you areIn Iraq, sand gets in, and f's things all up.
If you break them down and do regular maintenance they will last a good while.
The springs go first but I have mags around that are well over 10 years old! Like anything it depends on how well they are taken care of and how much they are usedAs to an actual service life hell if I know I assume there is a TM or operational guide with a suggested service life of them!?
To avoid leaving a gap in your carpet fibers it is possible to push the row into the backingUse a small amount of wood glue or latex seam sealer carpet adhesive, basically any glue that will dry clear and strongApply a little, little, drop to the carpet backing where you want the yarn to stickYou can use an awl, punch or other pointed object to push the carpet through the glue AND carpet backingThe yarn should stay stuck in the backing until the glue dries and secures it permanentlyYou may not get perfect results, it takes some practice but this is a technique that I have used a lot in carpet repair.
