I have waxed tile floor.s White in color, Thay turn yellow under the rugs, and wont clean , what causes it ? And how can I get the yellowing off .

Answer:

Clean the spots with baking soda. This should take care of it if it is not a permanent stain.
Oxidation causes it...it will also cause a carpet to turn yellowish is something is left in the same spot for a long period of time..... You need to move the rugs around, or leave them off for a while...wish I could tell you how to get the yellowing off, I can't.
I have a 50's bathroom; pink tub, pink and gray tile. The toilet was changed out and is white. The vanity was painted and we changed out the top. I play it up. I have black and white striped wallpaper and the border is black and white w/pink purses. I have a white shower and keep it pulled to hide the pink tub. The window topper is white. I have used a lot of black and white accents in the bathroom and it looks great. Try going with white for the curtains/shower curtains. Nice bright crisp white. Paint the walls a light creamy yellow. Accent with bits of the green and yellow. You can pull it together and make it look like you meant to do this. Decorate retro if you like. I am guessing it is Avacodo Green which was very big in the 70's. Or you could hide the yellow floor with a piece or carpet. Don't get discouraged. You can make it look adorable! Good Luck!!! P.S. Get rid of the tan! Make it pop with bits of red; soapdish, towels, etc.
Are you using a rug with rubber backing? I have one of these rugs in front of my fridge, and the vinyl flooring underneath is also yellow. I found this from Armstrong Flooring: Place a walk-off mat at outside entrances to reduce the amount of dirt brought into your home. We do not recommend the use of rubber- or latex-backed mats because the chemical (antioxidant) used to keep the backing from becoming brittle can permanently stain your floor. We suggest a nonstaining vinyl-backed mat or a woven rug that is colorfast. Most of these products are identifled colorfast by the manufacturer.
Probably the discoloration of the wax.
