Question:

I just got a Revlon Straightner and it doesnt have gold plates, but it says it has ceramics.?

Is that the same as a ceramic straightner? It works good still!

Answer:

If it says it is ceramic, it is. It would work for sure, but definitely not as good as a salon one. Those are more expensive and get hotter a lot faster. They work at least 3x better than the drug-store ones. But they are still good.
it could be the master cylinder but pull the back drums and check the wheel cylinders, you might have blown 1.
I believe the Revlon just has ceramic coated plates. Most of the cheaper ceramic straighteners are just ceramic coated. It does not have the same quality ceramic plates as the more expensive ones, and the more expensive ones heat up quicker. the expensive ones have tru ceramic plates sometimes mixed with tourmaline. but if you're not straightening your hair everyday and you dont have curly hair then you probably don't need a really high quality one. Ceramic coated straighteners will still damage your hair more than straighteners with actual ceramic/tourmaline plates but less so than metal plated ones. Also, the ceramic coated can eventually wear off. So, if you plan on straightening your hair everyday, you might want to spend a little extra.
No, it's not the same. Ceramic plates are better than gold ones, the finnish they have makes your hair more shiny. It dosen't matter what color the ceramic is either. My straightener has blue ceramic, and it's amazing. Now, if what you're asking is if your straightener has ceramic /in/ it. I don't know about combonation plates. Just know that ceramic plates are best.
