Question:

I lost my engagement ring, I took it off before bed and put and put it on the table by the bed. ITS GONE?

I have turned the house upside down, all the laundry has been done, the vacuum bag, the trash can piece by piece, even the dog has been checked as well as his poop! I moved all the bedroom furniture out and I bought a metal detector however it can not be used indoors so that was a bust! PLEASE HELP! I am Catholic and have even prayed to Saint Anthony, is there any special way to do that maybe I am doing it wrong.

Answer:

First thing to do is get a circuit tester.. these are cheap and show if there is power thereturn off breakers until you find the one that controls the alarms. use your tester to make sure power is off by reading from the black wire to the white wire..Never under any circumstances hook the wires together to trip any breaker. the black wire is the hot wire the red wire is the interconnected wire to set off all alarms if one goes off..the white wire is the neutral.
The smoke detector does not have to be on the ceiling. But it does need to be a minimum of 6 feet off the floor. Battery powered detectors are fine. I am a volunteer with a fire department and we pass them out every few months to those who need them. Make sure to place one in each bedroom one in living room and one near kitchen area. You should also look into a carbon monoxide detector as well. Place these and test batteries monthly by pressing the button. Batteries should be changed as needed but for sure change them when daylight savings days occur. Be sure to plan escape routes and a meeting place with your family. Practice these as well. Be safe.
