Question:

I need to hang curtains on these crappy walls?

Winter is coming and after one attempt of hanging curtains, in which they slowy fell down one by one due to crappy walls...I need nelp. I need to know what kind of brackets or anything I can use to hang curtains. you can put a nail or screw through the wall with little to no effort. any ideas?

Answer:

All you need are wall anchors. Take one of the brackets you plan to use to any hardware store. Tell them what the walls are and they will show you the proper anchor to use.
Sounds like a typical drywall wall. No they won't hold a nail unless you first find a stud behind. these are located every 16 inches. there should be a double stud on either side of a window or door. If you can't find a stud where you can nail your brackets, there are several different types of drywall anchors with screws that you can use. Ask for them at your local home center, they can also make suggestions on which one might be best for you.
You can fasten a narrow strip of wood on the wall across the top of the window. Make it a little longer than the window's width and make sure you fasten the wood to studs. You can then fasten the curtain brackets to the strip of wood. A 1x2 is a good size as it is thick enough to hold a nail or screws. Screws actually work better than nails. The wood can be painted the same as the wall or left alone if you use a valance with your curtains or drapes. This makes a very sturdy way to hang curtains and drapes or even blinds on your windows.
