Question:

I need to remove the wrinkles from a bed skirt that is dry clean only, any suggestions? can it be ironed?

The fabric is 100% polyester.

Answer:

hang it up and then steam it with the iron.don't actually touch the fabric with the iron just let the steam hit it.or iron it inside out on a very low setting.
Yes but on very low heat.your iron must have a setting for polyester. Make sure the botttom of the iron is clean.
If you Iron it, use a low setting and iron the back only. I'd use the lowest setting of my iron that produces steam. Use a very slightly damp smooth cotton towel with no nap, like a table napkin, as a pressing cloth. Make sure it isn't wet. Iron it alone if it has too much water. Lay the towel over the back of the skirt and iron. Produce as much steam as possible but don't use too much heat or you will melt the fabric and ruin it. Don't run an iron over the front or you will get shiny spots. A quality fabric steamer is really the best tool. Test any technique on the part you see the least. Some (usually older) polyesters don't take heat well at all and you can't do it yourself. It must be dry cleaned.
