When a great democracy has to resort to chemical and questionable military weapons. This to defeat a civilial population, something is wrong.Sadly the great democracy, can't win.You cannot defeat the will of the people.
Clean your fittings with sand cloth and or a steel wire brush. Clean the inside off the female fittings and the outside of the pipe. apply a flux paste if using soft solder to the male fitting or pipe only. Insert your fittings and apply just enough to see the flux begin to smoke a bit then move your flame to the back side of joint being soldered. Apply the solder to the joint and the solder will flow toward the heat. Make sure it has drawn itself into the joint all the way round. Don't leave the heat too long. Turn off the torch. Then carefully wipe the excess around the joint once with a dry rag. Let it cool then lightly sand or brush your newly made joint just a bit to remove any flux residue (Which would tarnish the joint if left on)
