if you arre replacing a factory radio, go to autoparts sstore and get a harness connector. u then connect ur new radio to the harness connector. it says right on the wire what goes to what.goodluck
Radio installers nowadays dont know either. What they do is see if they can find a wiring harness that will allow them to plug one end to the original car connector and the other end to a 3rd party radio. You can find this wiring harness from BestBuy, Frys, etc that installs stereos. Even if they cannot find it, what they do is get a generic wiring harness that clearly says which is left and right - then they splice that into the radio. The radio side is much easier. The car's side is the harder part but with a wiring harness to tell you what to do, its very straight forward. Yes this costs $100 for a tech to do.
ok if you are removing your stock radio first make sure you just unplug it dont make the mistake that most people make and cut the wires on the back. See if you just unplug it from the wiring harness of the car a remove it then you can go out and buy a wireing harness for the car. If you can find one. First plug the wireing harness into the car and make sure it fits and its the right one. After you see that it fits remove it and begin connecting wires. Just match the color codes on the radio harness to the harness that you bought. you have gray and black which are the front speakers. You have green and purple witch are the rear speaker. You have yellow which is your live(12 volt), you have red which is your accessory and you have black which is the ground. If you dont have a black wire comming from the harness that you purchase in the store then what you have to do is ground that wire to some metal. Get behind your dash find a nice sturdy piece of metal take a self tapping screw and screw the black wire to the metal. you will have a blue wire and some orage wires and maybe tan on the radio wiring harness and some on the harness you purchased. just cut and cap all of those because you dont need them
