Question:

Carpet installation equation?

If my room is 18x19 feet and the carpet cost is $27.77 per square yard and the installation coat is $ 175.00 . How much would it cost to install the carpet ??????

Answer:

If its a straight rectangle of 18x19. Carpet comes in 12 and sometimes 15ft widths ( figures are based on 12 goods), you ll need at least a pc of carpet 12x31 12x31 =372 s/f . And doing it the way you figured (s/y which isn t the way the law says to do it) Its 41.33 s/ys There are a few variables such as pattern matches , if any and such but thats a basic layout. 12x31= 372 372 divided by 9 is 41.33 s/y 41.33 x27.77=1147.73 1147.73 +175.00= $1322.73 Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. multiply 18x19 =342 sq'. Then divide that by 9 (the number of sq' in a sq' yard) =38 yards. 38 x $27.77= $1055.26. + $175.00 =1230.26 The carpet folks may say you need a bit more carpet depending on which direction they can run it in the room, matching carpet patterns, and width of carpeting, etc.
