This one has me baffled. Isn't the press supposed to sell hot stories to make money?
The Bush administration is hypocritical when it comes to freedom of the press. When it conveniently fits its agenda, the Bushites leak information to the press, plant stories, or hold news conferences. But, when the press reports something that the Bush gang would prefer NOT to be published, then there's all kinds of attempts to intimidate, manipulate, or control the press. The New York Times and other newspapers that recently reported the story of how terrorists' bank accounts were being monitored deserves to be saluted for standing up to an administration that tries its best to bully the press into submission. The 'Fourth Estate' is our citizenry's best protector. Without such freedom, the Bush family dynasty could easily become the Bush family despots, turning America a democracy into a dictatorship. -RKO-
It's not. The Bush gang is at fault and should pay for their underhanded dealings and sick motives. Rove should have been pursued, and maybe Cheney as well. It was a disappointing resolution.
It isnt. But...When have you ever heard of Bush and his cronies accepting blame?
The press is always responsible for what it prints no matter the source. To here the press tell it they are the guardians of truth and liberty not the hounds of profit and gossip. I'm not a journalist but I would certainly weigh anything I would print against the harm it might do. Maybe journalist aren't as idealistic as they once where. If a journalist leaked a defense related story that was perceived to damage the US during WWII he/she would have been shot.
