Question:

Im trying to replace my front tire for my motorcycle but I cant find the exact same sizes.?

I‘ve got a 2004 Kawasaki ZX6R - I‘m replacing the front tire however I‘m having issues finding the exact same replacement tire for the front.the old tire is a 120/65R17 the only replacements I can find that match the rear tire are 120/70R17. Is this going to be a problem? I‘m not worried about speedometer changes or anything, I just want to make sure the 70 will still be able to be mounted to the stock rim. My other problem is there is only one website I can use to have it shipped to me as I‘m in the military serving overseas and most major websites won‘t ship to APO addresses.please help me out if possible. Thanks

Answer:

The 70 series is only 0.2 inch taller than the 65 series, meaning the reduction in clearance between the tire and fender will be less than 1/4. Check and see how much room you have.
First, you should observe the rim. Note its sized. I guess the rim is sized 2.50 to 2.75. If it is, you can replace old tire with 100/80, 100/90, 110/80, 110/90 for 2.50 rim, and 120/80, 120/90 for 2.75 rim
