Question:

Im using SharkBite couplings with my copper pipes. Ive noticed that if the pipe bends at all more?

I‘ve noticed that if the pipe bends at all coupling, it leaks. Now, I can force the pipe to stay straight and that‘s not a problem. My concern is, does this mean that the coupling is not fitted properly, or do they just do this if the pipe is not straight at the joint? I just want to be sure that when it get cold outside again that it‘s not going to start leaking in the middle of the night.

Answer:

Sounds like your emissions sensor is sending a bad signal this could make the care send an inappropriate combination of gas and air into the engine causing it to burn incorrectly this could be your problem.
I most recently discovered Shark Bites and find them to be the greatest invention since the printing press, (no relation to plumbing) Part of the issue is that they are not meant to accommodate bending, and an installation should accommodate that for the connection, even if a bend, with a proper tubing bender has to be done before or after that connection, even if it means a Rube Goldberg Marble Roller Coaster setup. I have to believe there can be some concession made in the pipe length, the fit to a wall, some U brackets to attach and stabilize and compromise some aesthetics for the purpose of proper functionality. They are a great evolution in the trade and if used properly they offer as good service as anything in the past 2000 years. DOC
