Do it in a fume hood. Wear safety goggles. Wear a rubberized lab apron. Use rubber gloves. Have running water and sponges handy to clean up spills. Dissolve the copper a little at a time until you discern the reaction rate. It can get out of hand depending on how finely divided the copper is. In other words, copper strips react more slowly than granulated copper. Be very careful!
You'll have to modify a bushing to allow the 2 PVC to slide. It's slightly tapered and also has a stop inside. Just grind it out and used a fine sanding drum to smooth it out.
Ahhhhh! A breath of fresh, intelligent air. Yes, it is clear that cooperation in this problem is foundational issue. We got it with the wonderful Canadians. We ain't got it with the messed up Mexicano's. What more can be said? If it were up to the radical me, I would use land minds between the two fences all along the border and have guard stations/open land sections that would allow for animal and legal human passage. Tecnology is great but it still has to be employed and enforced by flesh and blood people.
