You have to realize that smells can get trapped (such as if you went to a club or poolhall, or was cooking fish, LOL) in your dreads. Other than that, the rest is left to personal hygiene. Don't believe everyone when they say you have to go without washing your dreads for three months. LIES!! That is a myth. Clean dreads lock faster than dirty ones.
smell is the result of poor hygeine. You can care for your dreds, once they are formed you will be able to wash them. Yes you can brush some of them out once you have em, but your hair will be thin thats for sure. you understand the locking process tears a lot of your hair.
