Yes your Mom's punishment is fair! What were you thinking first of all when spying on them? And then taping it with your cell phone? Why would any one do that? That just doesn't seem right. Doesn't matter you were only spying for 20 seconds spying is spying no matter how long you do it. You should be thankful you have a mother that teaches you right from wrong. Merry Christmas! :D
I always used to like them, until my mom had a very bad accident using one. The rubber bit it made by coating a piece of wire withthe rubber coat. I would know because me and my mom were on an outride, her horse started acting 'funny' - she pulled him up to a haly to check what was wrong when he lunged forward, slipped and fell on top of her, breaking her leg in 6 places. What had happened was the rubber had disintegrated off the wire of the bit - freak accident because it was a genuine happy mouth and just about new. The wire cut into his mouth as she pulled him up, causing him to freak. So yeah - go for a rubber bit if you want. I prefer something solid that has 0% chance of falling apart in their mouth - especially if your horse mouthes the bit a lot.
i have always used the dunlop original strap locks one part is on the guitar and one part on the strap and they click together and is push button to separate i never had any problem of my guitar falling or anything on stage and that would be safe for your spin trick too..
