Is this a slippery slope? What will be next? Will states be telling us what we can and can't do with our pet tortoises? It is time to take a stand for pet ownership.
In most places, EMS is provided by the fire department. But, even where EMS is a separate service, the fire department provides QRS (quick response service). Almost anywhere you go, there are more engine or ladder companies than there are ambulances. There are also hundreds more ambulance calls every week than there are fire calls. You can die while waiting from an ambulance, but an engine company arriving at the scene with 3 or 4 EMT certified firefighters is one way to keep people alive. Where I live and work, when you cal 9-1-1 for an ambulance, a police car, an engine company AND an ambulance are all dispatched. Before you say that is a waste of resources, just think, the firefighters would likely be sitting watching TV and the police officer on patrol when the call for EMS comes in. Just so you know, firefighters don't just put out fires. They respond to and assist with EMS calls, the respond to Carbon Monoxide detector activations, they mitigate hazardous materials incidents, they rescue people from car crashes and building collapses and other dangerous conditions. The teach children fire safety, they check fire hydrants, and many other things.
Are visors allowed in NCAA hockey? I thought that full cages were required. If you are allowed to use a visor it will be a full visor. (not NHL or CHL half visors). If a cage was hard to see out of just wait until your visor fogs up.
Mostly because, on average, they'll get there quicker. There are more of them. In addition, more people are often needed for forcible entry, extrication, assessing/treating multiple patients, or carrying patients out. Just getting a moderate-sized adult on a backboard requires four people.
