Question:

In middle-eastern culture is it desirable to have lighter skin?

Lighter hair etc.

Answer:

O yes, here if s/o has tan, black or dark complexion , people don't like them to marry or etc. here people like light or red white Colour, if s/o has white then every body loves it too mush, specially men here just want a beautiful while woman not black one. and not lighter hair man like thick long hair with dark brown or black colour. yes, too influential in case of marriage as well whether groom is black onion but bride should be like Cinderella ! even people worship it that much they put down human value, here you can see extremism hate for black/ dark ones sadly.
yea maybe for arabs..but in america..girls spend money each week to go tanning..they want that sexy bronze dark sunkissed skin tone brazilians have it..looks exotic and beautiful. here...exotic beauty is sought after men who chase after women for their skin or hair color ARE NOT MEN its mostly those ugly fat bald guys. real men appreciate a woman!! not society's depiction of the ideal..tall skinny blonde
Hmm..I guess it is, because when I was in Dubai two summers ago, the beauty section for women were a majority of face lightening products, or skin lightening products. It was the most famous product sold in stores. And, I don't think it's only limited to Mid-East countries or cultures; it's pretty much a desirable quality in most other cultures as well. --I'm opposed to this, though. I think a person can be beautiful, regardless of what color their skin is.
Yeah a lot of men from Middle Eastern countries seem to see lighter skin and hair as a symbol of beauty. I believe it's not just a Muslim thing it's a forgein thing, a lot of forgeiners seem to see light haired blue-eyed women as cheap and easy. The media also puts light skinned people up on a pedastool, I mean look at all the supermodels now a days their all blonde and white so it's everywhere!
Yes. Lighter has always been better. For Africans, Arabians, and mainly everyone at one point. But now the Europeans aspire to have darker characteristics but everyone else still prefers lighter skin. I'm 100% Arabian, and I have fair skin with a very light brown skin color, but my hair is jet black it contrasts but it is more desirable to have lighter skin. The basic concept is, the lighter your characteristics are, the prettier you are. If you're dark but have gorgeous facial features, you aren't considered very pretty.
