I have a blacksmith hammer and some copper bars and I have a copper chain pants recipe. What are the steps to actually go up to an anvil to make the pants?
The sheet needs to be steel, magnets only stick to ferrous metals (steel, iron).
The elements iron, nickel, and cobalt and many of their alloys are typical ferromagnetic materials. Of course you can't always tell what a material is just by looking at it (it could be painted, for example, which hides the appearance, making it more difficult), so just care a magnet with you when selecting materials to use and simply test the magnetic attraction.
First, I assume you have memorized the recipe. If not, you need to right-click the recipe it self, which will take it out of your inventory. But you will have it memorized. Walk up to an Anvil, be right up against it. Then, click on your spellbook, then click on blacksmithing. Find the recipe in the list, and click create. Oh I forgot to mention, you need to have a blacksmith hammer. If you dont have one, buy one from the blacksmith NPC. In Orgrimmar, he is right inside the house in the blacksmith area. Tons of non-rare recipes are bought from him as well. Thats it!
First u need to have a high enough skill forthe recepie card. Then USE the recepie like a normal item and you will learn how to make it. This is the same for any type of recepie item, for anything. Yes, most of the blacksmithing ones do require a hammer and use of an anvil. Once the skill is listed in your crafting list you should be able to make it providing you have enough of all the materials to do so. A number 1-999 will appear next to the name in the crafing page, telling you how many you can make. If you dont see a number, you lack materials to make the item. A LOT of the really good items are taught by recepie cards. So keep an eye out for em when you adventure, or shop for em in the AH. Recepies section, useable items Once your skill improves there are several smiting Quests you can undertake they mainly ask you to make X number of item A and Y number of item B.
