Question:

incline dumbbell press?

I cant find a straight answer to this, apparently everybody has a different opinion so I'll try asking on here. Incline dumbbell press, is it necessary to bring the weights together at the top of the press or can you just go straight up and down with the weights as if you were using a barbell

Answer:

In any lift, you want the to target the muscle your lifting for. On the incline press bringing them together is going to help you get that intense squeeze. During your lift, mentally concentrate on the area from the front of the shoulder, through the upper chest, and at the top of the lift, bring the weights together, in a controlled motion, pause at the top, and really squeeze the pecks. This intense squeeze is going to help flood blood into the muscles and bust the muscle fiber. If your not tearing the fibers, your not building muscle.
do them both
dumbells concentration the attempt on your chest incredibly greater (than does the barbell), and barbell concentration the attempt on your triceps incredibly greater (than do the dumbells) i prefer to signify you do the two exercises, besides as others
bring them together but do not click them together because when you bring them close without touching you are showing that you have controll over the weights and it makes you utilize the muscles in your shoulders.
Well when it comes to bench pressing both incline and flat the rule of thumb is for your arms to make a 90 degree angle, going all the way down to your chest wont give you more gains in fact it can cause injury. Im guessing the same applies to dumbbells.
