I built a USB charger for the main use of charging my iPod, unfortunately it doesn't do that. It is capable of charging everything else that has a USB charger cable. Whilst my iPod is connected it says 'Charging is not supported with this accessory'. I have a 5v regulator and I have checked the circuitry multiple times, i emphasise the circuitry is completely correct. So basically my question is how do I fix this?
Apple won't let you build your own! To fix this you must go out and buy a USB charger from Apple. Only then will your iPod come to life.
There are many USB chargers available on the market, and they will charge the iPod. You do not need to buy a charger from Apple. You do not mention the type of iPod, and the problem might be related to the current draw required by the iPod. I live in Bangkok, and USB chargers that will support all of the Apple iProducts cost about 100THB (about $3 US). They're cheaper than I could ever make one.
no, only if it fits, trust me
