My daughter is going on two and is in tip top health, I was giving her the poly-visol multivitamin drops w/ot iron. I like the drops because she likes it and I know shes swallowing it unlike the chewable vitamins and what not‘s. I was in CVS one day and noticed they had the multivitamin drops w/iron, I quickly purchased it, being were I shop never has the poly-visonw/iron. Well today while I was brushing her teeth I noticed her top teeth and bottom were a hue of grey. Never a problem before. I want her to get her iron but dont want her teeth to pay for extra supplement. Will it go away, I dont know what to do or how to go about it. I will talk to her doctor but need answers asap. She is healthy, all her shots, no problems during pregnancy or birth
Iron can stain the teeth. We usually recommend liquid iron through a straw. I would stop the drops at this point. If she is eating a balanced diet she doesn't need the extra iron. Its constipating also. They can check her level at her 2 year old check up.
