Question:

Is a repaired motorcycle tire(plugged in the middle of the tread) safe to ride on if mounted on the rear?

Rear tire 160/60/17 on a Suzuki GSX-R750

Answer:

70% of your braking comes from the front wheel. I usually just use the front brake. The insurance companies, dmv, and saftey courses tell me that this is the wrong way to do it. But, I have done this and been riding for 26 years without an accident. You can safely operate a motorcycle without a rear brake. Then there are a lot of people that ride with only rear brakes. So long as you know the limits of your machine and you don't tailgate people and try not to put yourself in a position where you need to brake suddenly. You will be O.K. and it is safe to operate the motorcycle.
No. Motorcycle tires perform different than car tires. That tire needs to heat up to perform the way it is designed. That means a lot of expanding and contracting is going on with the rubber. The plug won't hold. I've been there and done that. Fix-a-flat or a plug will not work on motorcycle tires. Especially sportbike tires. get a new tire.
A plug is OK so long as you fit a tube. Never rely on a plug alone.
I would think the Nike Bauer One95. So many NHL players have switched to them this year it's crazy. Alex Ovechkin is sponsored by CCM and still uses a One95. The profile is a little square, but the feel and shot power are amazing
I have a Synergy SE and it is the best stick I have ever used. Some sticks I have used before: Nike Bauer One90, Warrior Kronik, and Nike Bauer Vapor XXX. Synergy SE is by far the best I have ever used. Also you can find it for cheap on clearence because the SE16 just came out.
