is brazing a copper pipe a permanent fix?
it would be but usually, if you have a leak in copper pipe, you replace the part with the hole or leak in it.
If your speaking of hvac copper (yes).you use 15% silver solder or better.clean your surface and flux if copper is discolored.if plumbing repair(same deal.just keep in mind plumbing copper is different and plumbers use acid core and different less hot brazing gases.what I'm getting at is you can use either it depends what you're repairing.regardless make sure if you're using oxy-acetylene that standard plumbing joints wil melt at a lower temp.but yes brazing is a permanent fix if done correctly.
