I've been aware of Columbia's line of jackets with its touted heat insulating technologyI'm just a skeptical about its effectiveness and how it compares to the more well-known, tried and true, and more affordable wool fiber/fabricI've always been told that wool is the quot;go-toquot; fabric of choice for winter clothingNow, I don't live in the coldest areas in the U.SBut, it's still darn cold here in California for my personal standardsIs Omni-Heat Reflective Technology meant for areas like Alaska, Maine, Canada, etc? Can anyone shed light on this? Please provide any good source if availableI don't want to take a Yahoo! Answer response by face valueI'd like to know where you get your information fromThank you.
The reason for going to wool is because it breathesreflective clothes are warmer because they have a sheet of aluminum foil built in but they don't breathe and you get all wet from sweatThey are made for much colder places than Ca Put on a sweat shirt, cover it with tin foil then put on a jacket over it.
