Is grindcore a type of metal? And is it more metal than metalcore?
A few are a bit old (late 90's) but not that heard of until recently: Gojira Fleshgod Apocalypse KhaoZ Soulbleed Bloodsoaked Warpath Svart Crown Smother Blood Red Throne Bodyfarm Deicide Carcass (been around for a while but their new album is a new them) Alot of those bands only just released their first or second album this/last year
Mayan sounds ok, they're basically chasing Fleshgod Apocalypse's coattails though. Beyond Creation, not sure if they're new but they're great for prog death that doesn't sound like awful deathcore (like most new prog metal does these days)
