Question:

Is heating rocks with fire, covering them and sleeping on them, a real cold weather survival technique?

I'm watching it on Jeremiah Johnson on TV with R Redford and Grampa Walton.

Answer:

Fires need three things Fuel (something to burn) Heat (enough to start the reaction) Oxygen Fire extinguishers work by removing the oxygen in the reaction by either replacing it with something else (usually CO2)
Unfortunately part of the alarm system detects when the battery has been removed. Any time you put in a new battery or jump start the car, you may set off the alarm. It should turn off by pressing the door open button on the remote or by putting the key in the ignition and turning it to the on position.
