Who cares what corrective glasses you wear? As for working just about anywhere, you will be tested to confirm that you have 20/20 vision WITH corrective glasses. In a mine, as everywhere else where things may move or fly around, you will be required to wear certified shatter proof protective glasses. You can buy them from any optician's store. Go for it.
