I drive 96 Toyota Celica and whenever I am driving, the inside of the car sounds like a pod-racer my friend says. The noise becomes louder on the freeway, and even louder when I change lanes on the freeway. Is this problem my axle? How much would it cost to fix this problem (approx.)?
Does the sound change when you're turning? If so, it might be a wheel bearing wearing out. As far as I know, the rear wheel bearings are adjustable, while the front bearings must be replaced when worn out; this, however, shouldn't cost a fortune.
im 17 also but got my bike when i was 16. also live in a some what city. what i did was i researched and researched all the bikes that are on sale around. When i got what i was looking i told a friend to drive me over there. but what i did before hand. yes it does sounds stupid and ridiculous but it worked. i looked up on inernet how to drive one. and when my friend dropped me off i just paid the guy (was about $900 and 500cc bike) and i just slowly, like a grandpa drove back home. it wasnt the safest thing but it worked.
Call your parents insurance company and ask about insurance for you on a motorcycle or scooter. The cost for motorcycle insurance for a 17 year old driver with no MSF course -- if it's even available -- will be VERY expensive. Scooter insurance will probably be cheaper, at least within acceptable limits. I'd still drive the 4 hours and take the course. It's a lifesaver.
Not that much info. What happens in town and when you're turning Left or right? Bad Tires, CV Joints or Weather Striping.
Don't know what a pod racer is,or what one sounds, feels, smells like. You have a noise when the weight of the car is leaned from one side to the other as in changing lanes or turning a long curve at say fourty and up. Slight roaring from one side.Thats a hub bearing. Not a job for a back yarder. They need to be pressed off and on.After removing Brakes, ball joint, axle, spindle.See a good repair man an get his opinion.Good luck
