Question:

Is it my transmission?

When I try to put my van in drive it wont move sounds like it is stuck in neutral. Dose this mean I will need a new transmission?

Answer:

It is the transmission, check fluids and run through all the gears to see if none respond. You should give the make and model it helps because some vehicles have certain problems associated with them
Naaahhhh. You will just burn the tips a bit.
it will create dead ends which will weaken the hair, but it won't thin out thick hair.
van? dont say 2006 caravan lol, that year had cv axle failure, i had 3 in two weeks brought back to dealership for trans concern, at 30-40,000 miles cv axle prematurely spun inner joint, which lets it spin with out making noise or moving van simular to trans failure, but if its just low on fluid depending on how far it was driven like that the leak can be repaired and trans salvaged
Assuming that you have an automatic transmission, the gear selector linkage is loose or out of adjustment; or the drive plates in the transmission are worn/burnt(smell the fluid on the transmission dipstick, if it's real dark red/brown and smells like a barbecue, it's burnt, the transmission can usually be rebuilt, not requiring a new one; if you have posi-traction/limited slip differential , the drive plates could be worn/burnt also.Is the drive shaft connected to the engine and transmission? Is there a broken universal joint?
