Question:

Is it safe to give ferrets yarn toys/hammocks?

I know hamsters can't have them because it's dangerous if they chew them and swallow the fibersDo ferrets chew like that? Is it safe to knit some toys and hammocks for them to use in and/or out of the cage?

Answer:

Put it in a pot of water on the stoveAdd you favorite spices and sliced onion Cook until tender Add some potatoes and veggies and cook until they are tender
Try this, cover it with dry spices, salt pepper garlic, onion powder etc, and let sit in the fridge over night, Next day you grill it over hot charcoal, really hot fire and sear it almost blackShould only need a few minutes on each side (this is great with a brisket) Then wrap it in 2 layers of heavy foil sealing it up and put in your oven at 250 degrees for 6-8 hoursIt will be tender, tasty, and gone!
Hey Kimco, You should first think about what type of meat you should braise withFor my, i usually use a cut of meat called the brisketFirst apply a dry rub to it(salt, pepper, paprika, and other spices you like) then you have to sear it on really high heatThat step is really important and it should not be skipped at all costSeer the brisket on both sides until you can see that it has turned really golden brownAfter this step, just place it in the crockpot with carrots, celery, and one large onion, bay leaf, rosemary, and a little thyme and some five spice powderPlace in chicken stock, or use half water half chicken stock and wait till the mixture boilsAdd it to your over and lower the temperature to around 300 degrees for about 5-6 hoursSince your using a crock pot, you can skip the oven and instead, just keep it at a constant 300 degrees for the duration of the timeI hope this helps and happy eating.
This is mom's standyPut it in the roasting pan, sprinkle some salt on the outside (1 teaspooon should do it)pour 1 cup of water on topPut the lid on the roasting pan and let it cook at 350 degrees for a couple of hoursWhen it's starting to get tender, put any vegetables you want (onion/potatoe, carrott) inside the roasting pan, and let it cook another hour or soreally easy recipe? Pour 1 package of dried onion soup mix over itAdd 2 cups of waterPut the lid on the roasting panPut in the ovenLet it cook for about 2 hours at 350 degrees The meat in a pot roast will only be tender if you let it cook slowly and for a couple of hoursYou could use the stew mix instead, just pour it over the meat, add 2 cups of water and cover it and let it cookWon't taste as good as either of the above two, however.
Ferrets DO chew, and they like to digIf you choose to crochet/knit something for the little one, you'd have to make sure that your making it very tight and there are no loose strings for him/her to choke onI would pick a much stronger and more durable fabric for a ferretDenim would make a good option No matter what you make for the ferret ALWAYS keep an eye on it for any wear and tearNot only can the string be something they could eat and choke on, the can also get stuck in holes and hurt themselves that wayOur ferret broke his leg on a hole in his hammock that we didn't find right awayA VERY small holeKeep in mind their small size no matter what you make, because as I said that little hole no bigger than my pinky was enough to break his leg.
