I have a 2002 Ford Focus and it is leaking power steering fluid. Its not a bad leak. I have to re-fill it about every two weeks. I am not finacially able to take my car to a mecanic right now. A friend told me about some power steering fluid with leak stopping additives that he said would probably take care of my problem. Is it safe to use?
yeah, its a temperary fix. it shouldnt hurt anything. Lucas makes some good stuff.
Sure, just don't put anything crazy in there. Additives are made for applications like this, And your car is a pretty standard car. I've actually heard of people using raw eggs and sawdust to stop leaks, That is just not smart. But do remember, stop-leak additives are just a temporary fix.
I had a Ford Bronco for almost 10 years. When I got it the person I bought it from told me about the leak. I put in an additive and that took care of it until I bought a Ford pickup.
Most people now buy auto in USA, ca't vouch for canuks.
