My little boy is turning 2 on Feb. 1. He loves Scooby Doo, but he also loves bulldozers and dump trucks. Would it be tacky to have both themes at his party? A scooby cake with dozers on the plates and cups or the other way around.
It would be tacky if anyone there would even care. But he's only 2! Its his birthday so do what he likes. Using both themes would be great. It would make him so happy!
No it wouldn't be tacky! As a matter of fact just last week I saw a cake in walmart that actually had scooby doo on a bulldozer! Go figure!!!! Having many themes at a party is always fun because there is a wide variety for everyone. The girls will love the scooby and the boys will love the trucks. The parents of course will just love the excitement of all the children playing together. Also, males love playing with scooby and I know some girls who like to push trucks. . . so, nah, its not a big deal. You should save on the decoration of a cake and do it yourself. You can, of course, by the cake already made and have them do the icing, but you should purchase the toys to go on top at walmart or some place and put it on yourself. For instance, do scooby riding a bulldozer or dump truck. You could also mix up the plates and cups. You could put trucks on the plates and scooby on the cups, or vice versa. Just make sure that its scooby for a boy and not a girl (don't do all the cycodelic stuff..however you spell it or flowers). Depending on how many people are coming and if its boy and girls attending do to pinnata's (yes, I know spelling is horrible). Your little one will be so overwhelmed with all the people there they aren't really going to care about what kind of cake or plates are used. They just want the cake! Mix it up and have some fun! Don't worry about what may be tacky and what isn't. Just worry about the enjoyment of your son and getter done! LOL
I don't know about tacky, but I think it would be confusing trying to combine the two and then come up with goody bags is you have them. I'd probably do one of the themes this year and save the other for next years party just to keep it simpler, but that's just me.
I think it's fine..he doesn't care if it's tacky or not :) I would do a Scooby cake and then the rest of the decorations dozers and dump trucks.
No, not at all. In fact, we had two themes for our son too. Kids are into many things and a birthday is a very special celebration and its only fitting you incorporate what you think is best to make that day special. You could even do half Scooby and half bulldozer/dump trucks for the party bags and match solid color crepe paper/balloons and table cloth to incorporate colors from both themes. :) Sounds like fun!
