Question:

Is it true that old, U.Sflags are used in the making of dollar bills?

I have a friend at work that used to work at a bank and she told me that as a security measure, they put red and blue fibers in billsYou can see them with the naked eye if you look closely at the bordersBut she also said the red and blue fibers are from old, retired American flagsCan anyone here confirm this? Preferably someone else who works at a bank or even the treasury if that's possibleI got a bet on this so I need to know if I'm right.
