Is lime a suitable plant food for fig trees?

Answer:

I'd okorder
You have a couple of different options for dusting birds. All chickens love a good dust bath, and using wood ash (saved from the fireplace or brush pile) can be mixed in. Wood ash is a good parasite deterrent. Lime is good for controlling manure odor and I know some people who lime their barn floors, but I'm pretty hesitant to use it myself, as we have different types of livestock and I don't know how it will affect everything we raise. Dolomitic limestone can actually be pretty bad for layers, as it can interfere with egg production, so avoid that. If you do need to treat for mites, poultry dust containing pyrethrum is strong enough and safe enough for treating mites. Make sure you keep any kind of dust away from their head, as none of this is good to get in their eyes or lungs. If you want a safe and natural treatment, get some food-grade diamitous earth. DE can be safely dusted on any animal and it is pretty effective at getting rid of parasites. Hope this helps!
