UGH!!! MY EYES!!! THAT fugly horse is a STALLION!? That they BRED?!?!?!?! Honestly, the mare would be worth MORE without the foal. No one wants to give that outrageous price to a so-so trail mare (show horse my butt) bred to that puny thing she calls a breeding-worthy stallion. You won't be able to sell that foal for more than a couple hundredif you're lucky! And there would be no point to put it through training to sell as a 3 y/o because no one is going to buy it for you to make any sort of profit. Basically, you'll be stuck with mare and terrible looking foal and you'll be weaning it, caring for it, giving it and the mare all the veterinarian care, and be left with some crappy foal no one would pay more than $800 for, WITH TRAINING! It just sounds like they don't want the foal (can we say bad horsey owner left the horny stallion out?!) and is trying to make it sound like an excellent deal. When in reality, you'll probably be LOSING thousands That ad is BAD NEWS. The only time you should buy a mare-in-foal is if the mare and stud are nice worthy animals of breeding with some sort of guarantee and you have the papers and registry, and you WANT to train up a foal. Heck, I'd NEVER buy a mare-in-foal. I'd rather purchase the foal once it hit the ground.
