Question:

Is my mom allowed to try to get someone fired based off of rumors?

My mother and I never got along and I wanted to tell her about my boyfriend who works at the same school where my mother works. He's never done anything wrong nor has he done anything to my mother. My mother found out who my boyfriend is and is freaking furious. Although I am a single parent, in school all I asked was that she watch over my daughter till I finish school. I wanted to tell her about my boyfriend but he wasn't ready so I held off on it. My mom really believes the ugly rumors and awful things that people say. She claims she has the evidence she needs to get him fired. How is this so and is she even allowed to do that? I want to fix this because I feel it's all my fault thanks to my crazy mother. I am trying to stand up to her and I need advice or suggestions. Please help, anyone. And please no sarcasm. Thank you.

Answer:

Being an at will state. An employer can fire you for any reason or no reason at all. So they could let you go, if you are unable to perform the job you were hired to do. It also depends on if you have been approved for SS, if you have to appeal a denial, the average time to wait for a hearing is 3 years in Michigan. Insurance depends on what is the employee/employer contract. Most employers will not keep paying or keep an employee covered by insurance if they do not have to.
its either the battery or if its more than about 8 years old you need a new smoke detector
Yes, copper will burst faster and easier then pex tubing. pex has a little more give in it(but not much) it will still burst. pex will usually burst in and around the fittings/crimps
