Question:

Is my windshield wiper motor bad.?

Just yesterday I started my car, and my windshield wipers started going, then they stopped, and then started moving again. It kept doing that and I didn‘t even turn them on. Could it be a bad motor or wiring or something else?

Answer:

Not the motor -- the motor is either good, and runs hen electricity is connected to it, or it's bad, and it doesn't run when electricity is connected to it. Your motor is OK. The problem is probably a wire inside the steering column got old, and wore the insulation off a wire, so it short circuits sometimes as the wheel turns, and sends electricity to the motor even when the wiper switch is off. The correct fix is to find and replace the wire, but a shortcut is to do this: Find the wire which takes electricity into the motor, and cut that wire an inch or two from the motor. Now run a wire of similar size straight from the battery pos terminal (plus sign) to a switch you mount on or under the dash, and a wire from the other side of the switch to the motor side of the wire you cut. Now you can turn the wipers on or off with the new switch. Leave the old wire there, in case you or someone else later decides to do the proper fix.
Sounds like theirs something grounding like a wire the wiper motor it not bad if its bad it won't move your wiper you need to take it to repair center and have it check and get behind it or you can Google it but your best options is have it check out i hope this help you
Yes it could be a bad motor or wiring or something else. I suggest you go test something to find out.
