Question:

Is not iron welding, welding of wrought iron

Is not iron welding, welding of wrought iron

Answer:

From the point of view of welding, as long as the two metals can be fused, they can be welded. But the welding performance is different, welding requirements (ie process) is different.
Iron is generally referred to as iron ingots, casting pig iron should be called iron; while cooked pig iron is of pure iron or commonly known as low carbon steel.
For example, the welding process of low carbon steel is relatively simple, generally can be directly welded and cast iron welding; not only to choose the appropriate electrodes, but also strict process, such as must be used to preheat or slow cooling measures, otherwise the weld will crack. Thus, iron and steel can be welded, welding is different: wrought iron (low carbon steel) welding of cast iron (i.e. cast iron) the poor weldability.
