Question:

Is putting a period after a sentence in brackets correct?

For example: I worked as a volunteer (The team that I was in stressed co-ordination, organization, communicative skills and patience.)So, my question is - should I finish the sentence in brackets with or without the period?Tnx

Answer:

Yes. If what is inside the brackets is a full sentence, you put a period after it, AND after the brackets, to end the sentence which has the brackets in it. See the source below for full details: its a good resource!
You mean parentheses, not brackets. In your example, a period goes immediately after volunteer.
In this case, you should have a period right after volunteer, and keep the period where it is. If the sentence in brackets/parentheses is not a complete sentence, however, use then you put the last un-bracketed word, the open bracket, the phrase, the closing bracket, and then the period. In other words This is what your sentence should be: I worked as a volunteer. (The team that I was in stressed co-ordination, organization, communicative skills and patience.) If the bracketed phrase is not a full sentence, do something like this: I worked as a volunteer on a team (which stressed co-ordination, organization, communicative skills and patience).
truthfully, interior the case above the exclamation element could be exterior of the brackets - My call's Andrea (no longer Andy)! yet on occasion, sure the fullstop does bypass after the questionmark in brackets.
