Question:

Is resin the term plastics, right?

Is resin the term plastics, right?

Answer:

The synthetic resin is a synthetic polymer or a prepolymer thereof. Synthetic resins are a major component of plastics. Plastics are synthetic resins that are added (or not added) to various additives and are then processed to form a plastic material (thermoplastic) or cured to form a rigid material (thermosetting plastic), which is referred to as plastic.
Natural resin is an amorphous organic matter from the secretions of plants and animals in nature, such as rosin, shellac, amber, etc..
People often confuse the two terms "plastic" and "resin". But strictly speaking, the concepts of both are different. Resins are made of natural resins and synthetic resins.
