Question:

is suspension permanent?

i got suspended. :/it was because a troll in the adolescent section was talking about how to beat a child and i gave him a way and some one reported me and got me suspended [i went through my emails and it was my first offense] and they didn‘t get suspended. is there any way to get it back? i‘m beyond angry right now. over 5 thousand points down the drain goddammit. is there a number i can call? i just feel like bitchin them out atm.

Answer:

A suspension is for ever unless you appeal within 7 days and win your appeal. Very few appeals are won. As far as I know it is extremely rare to be suspended for a first or even a second violation unless the violation is a very serious one. Your first violation (posting a picture of yourself) may perhaps have been regarded as a chatting violation or perhaps it was the result of false reporting. Your second violation (wrongly or rightly) was obviously regarded as a very serious violation as it got you suspended. Your answer was probably regarded as harming minors or advising someone how to harm minors and that is regarded as a very serious violation. Unfortunately the system does make mistakes and injustices do occur. The Forum is actually full of complaints about injustices. Perhaps you could post your concerns in the Forum as Yahoo! staff do actually peruse the Forum but not the Main Board.
How did you pay hon? If you used Visa or Paypal you can complain to them and have your money returned to you. If not, I would go directly to your bank and talk with them. In the future, don't ever download something that sounds so fishy. The best security programs are still the more expensive ones. Though from experience, I quit using Norton and moved over to Kaspersky which is actually cheaper and better. Kaspersky, Norton and McAfee are probably the best programs to buy (in that order). When I put Kaspersky on this computer it found well over 300 infected files and worms that Norton couldn't. It destroyed them all, it also runs less resources and is not noticeable at all in the background, unlike Norton. Lovingly, Mom
I've never heard of anyone being suspended after their first violation notice. Also, how did this person know to spite report you unless you announced to them that you had reported their inappropriate post? The best way to avoid harassment is to make your profile private, block contacts and never respond to rule breakers, especially if you report them. If you appeal your previous account may be restored if you're 100% certain no rules were violated on your end. Most people, however, don't win their appeal.
Are you say you told him how to beat a child. If so I am sure you got several reports. When you gave that answer it is against the guidelines and no you will not get your account back. You can get a lot of small violations and not get your account suspended but when you give an answer to harm someone then all it takes it just 1. You really may not have meant what you answered on here for your answer but you can not give advise on how to harm someone. Sorry!!!
Was your house vacant or under construction at the time (really unusual for thieves to go inside a house and start ripping out drywall to steal pipes)? If so then those situations may have limited or eliminated theft coverage.
