Question:

Is the 1999 Lincoln Navigator air suspension system the same as the 2003?

I have 3 wheels working fine but the front passenger air bag leaks. Can I replace mine with one off a 1999 Navigator? Any suggestions? I have replaced the pump ad made manual switch. Has anyone done this and share experience.

Answer:

My alarm kept my car safe for 10 years in a bad neighborhood. It was worth every penny!
I live in NYC and although I have had the hell annoyed out of me by these alarms, I have never seen or heard about them actually helping to foil a thief. As a matter of fact, they have been shown to be so impotent, as well as a public nuisance, that they have fallen out of favor in large metropolitan areas. If I moved back to the suburbs or to a rural area they might be effective.
you wouldn't want to go through the time and hassle of putting on a older part that is probably going to fail pretty soon anywhere. Price a new one i don''t think they cost to much its well worth not hassling with changing again.
The front airstruts are identical. I don't rec commend the tampering with the automatic controls, but to each his own. The system should have always had a manual override, so a lot of people install one of their own.
ask a salvage yard they can tell you what years match up
