Question:

Is There A Consequence If You Don't Preform Your Best In The MLB On Purpose ?

If You Don't Preform Your Best On Purpose In The Majors Do You Get Penalized Or Suspended ???

Answer:

Ask the 1919 White Sox how that went for them. Also Pete Rose has been thought to do that. We know that gamblers marred the game when he was around so that kind of is the same as not trying your hardest.
If a player is slumping, then there is nothing that you can do to be reprimanded. But if a player is intentionally playing like crap and creating a ruckus. It is most likely the discretion of the manager. He might bench you for a game or, if you really act up he will be fined.
If you're talking about throwing games and betting on the other team, yes. If you just aren't trying hard, for no reason other than laziness, you'll probably get benched for a couple games to send a message.
this is actually a secret strategy by teams who end up at the bottom of their divisions after the all star break they just give up to get higher in the draft though if the MLB had a better playoff system teams wouldn't have to give up so early but tis the nature of the game.
Well I dont understand why any player would not perform their best. This is a money sport and they do want that dough. When players have been caught playing poor or not hustling, like BJ Upton has, they could be benched a few times to straighten them up. Unless you are talking about a player performing bad on purpose with intent to have their team lose, like the 1919 Chicago White Sox, then those players could be under indictment and could get suspended or expelled from baseball.
