Question:

Is there a difference between progressive metal and technical metal?

Or progressive death metal and technical death metal

Answer:

As free atoms, metals have exactly the same number of electrons as protons. In compounds, they lose electrons and become positive ions. As metals, the outer ring electrons can roam around throughout the metal and that is why they conduct electricity.
If metals carried more electrons than protons, metals would have an excess of negative charges and would be negatively charged. However, metals, under normal circumstances, are NEUTRAL (door knobs, coins etc. are electrically neutral), because the number of protons = number of electrons.
