Question:

Is there any Fire Department willing to donate old equipment or trucks?

I volunteer for a rural fire department and all of our fire trucks are 1989 and older, also one of our trucks has cough fire itself and has no equipment on it. We cover 55 miles on the local interstate covering car accidents plus we cover two state highways one fore 15 miles and the other for 30 miles and our rescue truck is a 1990 and it has been threw hell and back. We have one good truck that is a 1999 but that truck has been wreaked and now has a transmission problem they can't seem to fix, we have only enough hose to fill one hose bed. If your department is getting rid of trucks that would help us or equipment I am willing to go pick it up no matter were your located. Please let me know if your department can help.

Answer:

Without more context it's a little hard to tell you exactly what they mean. But the general meaning is that when scientists are going to start an investigation of some kind they spend time considering what kinds of tools they are going to need and then what kind of protective clothing and equipment they need so they can be safe while doing the investigation. For instance, if you were planning to dig a hole you would do the same things: You would want to bring the right tools: Shovels, jackhammers, and pickaxes. And you would want to keep yourself and others safe by using the correct safety procedures: Putting on a fluorescent vest, safety goggles, and gloves. Marking off the are you are digging in to keep people from getting in the way. Things like that.
Hamsters tend to do that theyre dumb. Get a guinea pig.
