Is there another workout that I can do that would help me get the same results as bench pressing that isn't bench pressing.
Yea, you would be wanting a spotter for the bench. no remember what weight you're doing you prefer a spotter. even once you're purely lifting the 45lb bar. in case you max out or get too drained or purely attempt to do a velocity rep, your hands gets drained or maybe you is probably no longer waiting to tug off that 45lb weight. Plus, a spotter can help shop your bar straight away and side you to push extra durable whilst it quite counts. no person desires to choke themselves out with weights the gadget ones you particularly do no longer prefer a spotter in any respect by way of fact each and every of the weights are tucked away into the gadget. till you go with somebody to video exhibit you to be sure you're no longer putting your hands around the weights =P stable success!
push-ups are a great workout and are highly underrated. not many weight lifters do them but they can build serious strength in your chest, triceps, even your neck and upper back.
Also, people have a lot of luck with weighted push-ups. The most popular way I have seen them done is with large chains that they drape over their backs. I can imagine a nice heavy weighted vest would work well too. You can probably find those at *****' Sporting Goods or Wal-Mart. The only other thing that would be a reasonable alternative that I can think of would be doing dumbbell flies. They don't hit the triceps, really, but you could follow them up with tricep kick backs or any other form of tricep isolation Hope this helped, Pat
