My mom just got a ticket fined for parking a the street near a hydrant. But hydrant area is not mark red or anyhting. Is this wrong?
I would rather say: Chief Harrigan was invited to our safety meeting to/in order to/so as to demonstrate the correct use of fire extinguishers. But among the above-mentioned endings only the last one sounds good. The other three are clumsy.
1. Very likely, it wasn't a sign at all. If it was, I think Psalm 29 would help us interpret it. 2. Catholics are also Christians who try to worship Jesus to the best of our abilities. We are NOT pagan and hold no pagan beliefs. 3. Satan may have fallen like lightening, but the pope hasn't fallen anywhere. 4. Many buildings, such as the Vatican, are intentionally built to act as lightening rods to protect surrounding buildings from lightening strikes. 5. We pray to Mary and other saints because they are still part of the Body of Christ, and the Bible says we're not supposed to tell any part of the Body that we don't need them (1 Cor 12). And they are indeed living with Jesus in heaven. I'm not sure why you think Mary or any other saint who loved and followed Jesus are not in Heaven. Jesus promised ETERNAL life, and eternal means off the timeline. They don't have to wait for the second coming to be with Jesus in heaven right now. 6. When Catholics confess, we ARE boldly going to the throne of God, and the priest is standing witness for us. Furthermore, the Bible says to confess your sins to another person. You'll find that in James 5:16. Priests are other people, in case you didn't know. Plus there are two key advantages to confessing to a priest. First, they are specially trained and under penalty of hell if they reveal anything confessed to them (unlike your best friend or your neighbor or your pastor, who may gossip about your sins). Second, Jesus endowed His priests with the ability to absolve sin in His name (John 20:21-23), so that alleviates the burden of our sin in a way that confessing to somebody who is not ordained can never do. 7. Catholics do NOT worship statues. We worship the Lord (and only the Lord) NEAR statues. When you kneel at your pastor's feet during an altar call are you worshiping the pastor? Or his shoes? or the carpeting? No. You are worshiping God NEAR the pastor, and his shoes and carpeting. It's the same for us.
