Heard someone say Matter is simply light and that the whole universe is based on light energy. Is this true
It is actually light AND sound. All that exists is vibration, which is light and sound. A kind of music that results in existence.
It is misleading but has a grain of truth. It's a bit like saying 'ice is really steam'. It kind of misses the point. Ice and steam behave very differently even though they are made of the same types of atom. Electromagnetic radiation is one form of energy. And light is just one type of electromagnetic radiation. Matter is another form of energy (energy hugely compressed into a small space). Light has many properties which matter does not, and vice versa. Maybe the video will help.
Light is weightless, so it isn't matter. Light is energy. Most energy comes from electromagnetic radiation from stars in the universe.
